Rebecca Langford née Scarbrough
We lost Aunt Rebecca on July 4, 2021. The remembrance was prepared by Ellie.
Rebecca Langford née Scarbrough was born October 8, 1931 in Troy, Alabama. She went home to be with her Lord July 4, 2021. She married her husband John in 1950, and received her school-teaching diploma from what is now Troy State University in 1951. Although she did not teach long-term, her loved ones would agree she worked harder, and did more for others, than almost anyone they knew. Her enthusiasm for feeding people was matched only by how much they enjoyed her delicious meals. Dedicated to doing for others; she regularly supported Christian charities, taught Sunday school, and looked after her family, friends, and neighbors. Not one to luxuriate in her easy chair, she made an exception for college football season, with weekends spent passionately following the SEC. She is predeceased by her oldest son Duffy, and her husband of 63 years years John. She is survived by her siblings Ann, Robert, and Peggy; her son Gary Langford; her grandchildren Shawn, Ellison, Kemper, and Foster; and her great-grand-children Estelle and Ainsley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cross Over Ministry in Opp, Alabama 334-493-1030. A celebration of life was held at Community Baptist Church in Korona, Florida on Saturday July 10 at 11:30 a.m. A remembrance gathering was held at her home in Dozier, Alabama on Saturday October 2.

Farm Work Day, April 2015
We were able to deal with the bushes covering the front of the house as well as brush in the back. Paul and Andy finished painting the barn roof. Gary pulled stubborn bushes with the tractor. Two gates were reset while Aunt Rebecca and Ruth made sure we were all well-fed.
